Position Summary

Monmouth University is seeking applications for a Social Media Coordinator in the University Marketing and Communications department.

We are looking for a creative, organized, proactive, and innovative individual to join a dynamic marketing and communications team that drives overall communication strategy and brand development for the University. The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for strategically conceptualizing, building, and sustaining a vibrant and branded social media presence across multiple platforms. We are looking for someone who is energetic, with a deep knowledge of the social and digital landscape.

Other Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, Digital Media, Marketing, or a related field. Two years of content creation experience.

Highly proficient ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing, with a strong attention to detail, including grammar and spelling.

Experience using social media management tools (e.g. Sysomos, Sprinklr, Spredfast, etc.), and an informed opinion about the best tool for our use. Deep understanding of all relevant social reputation utilities, social media best practices, and a desire to research and explore new offerings.

Strength in thinking strategically and seeing the bigger picture – making contributions and adding value to projects beyond the original assignment. Willingness to embrace feedback and turn around revisions in a timely manner.

Preferred Qualifications

Social video experience. Good time management skills. Basic Adobe Photoshop skills, with an interest in learning semi-advanced techniques through a professional development program.
